Vol. 101 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bus Services in County Donegal.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the improved petrol position, he will consider favourably the question of granting the necessary permission to the Great Northern Railway Company to institute a daily bus service between Letterkenny and Ballybofey; and also to the Lough Swilly Railway Company for the extension of the present service from Portsalon to Kindrum, via Fanad Head.

The issue of a licence in respect of the Letterkenny — Ballybofey service has been authorised. The Great Northern Railway Company intend to commence the service on the 1st July.

No application has been made for the operation of a service to Fanad Head area and, in any event, I understand that due to the shortage of vehicles such a service could not be provided at present.
