Vol. 101 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Production of Batch Bread in Army Commands.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state in terms of the four pound loaf, the over-all cost of producing batch bread in the several Army commands; and also indicate the items included in the return.

There is only one Army bakery—that at the Curragh Camp. The average cost of producing a 4-lb. loaf was 10½d. during the financial year 1945-46.

This cost includes the following items:—labour, flour and other ingredients, fuel and light, repairs to plant, machinery and premises; depreciation —plant, machinery and premises; office expenses and overhead charges.
