Vol. 102 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Creameries.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state how many creameries in West Cork were scheduled for taking over by the Dairy Disposals Company; how many have actually been taken over; and whether the compensation payable to the owners and employees has been agreed on and paid over in every case.

The answer to the first and second parts of the question is 11. In addition eight unregistered premises have been purchased. As regards the third part of the question, the purchase prices have been paid save in one case in which the legal formalities have not been completed. Compensation to redundant employees has been paid in all but two cases which are at present under consideration.
