Vol. 102 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Facilities for Turf Transport in Kerry.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that about 1,000 tons of turf at Bealard and Glentunarrig bogs cannot be moved because of the lack of road facilities, for which repeated requests have been made; if he will state the reasons for the failure to have the road repaired; and if the necessary works are about to be put in hands.

Glentunarrig covers an extensive bog area and I am not aware of the particular part of it to which the Deputy refers. Grants, however, have been made in past years for one of the important roadways into the bog, and the making of a further grant for this roadway has been approved.
