Vol. 103 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nutritional Survey.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state the number of persons now engaged on the nutritional survey undertaken by his Department; the total sum expended up to date on this project; the areas already surveyed; and the approximate date on which it is expected that the survey will be completed.

Under the supervision of a senior medical inspector of the Department, who has received special training in carrying out surveys of this nature, a temporary medical inspector and ten temporary female investigators are employed by the Department for the purposes of the nutritional survey. The total sum expended on the survey is £2,280 14s. 9d.

Field work in connection with the survey has been carried out in Dublin City and in the congested districts in Counties Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Leitrim and Mayo. It is expected that the survey will be completed in 1947.
