Vol. 103 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Old Horses.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he proposes to permit the export of fat or old horses for a further period in the near future; and if there are any reasons for the stoppage of this trade.

I do not propose to authorise the issue of any further licences for the export of fat or old horses. The traffic in worn-out horses was terminated at the end of October last at the request of the British Ministry concerned.
