Vol. 104 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accommodation at Curragh Camp.

asked the Minister for Defence whether it is proposed to provide additional married quarters for officers, non-commissioned officers and men at the Curragh Camp; and if so, when it is anticipated that the accommodation will be available.

Eight temporary quarters for married officers have been made available at the Curragh Camp and will be occupied at an early date. Provision of 24 additional permanent quarters for married officers has been approved and arrangements for their construction are being made with the Commissioners of Public Works. The provision of additional accommodation for married non-commissioned officers and men at the Curragh Camp is not at present under consideration in view of the urgency of providing similar accommodation in other barracks.

It will be appreciated that the erection of quarters generally will depend to a large extent on the availability of materials.
