Vol. 104 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Navigation Workers.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that four employees of the Shannon Navigation at Limerick Station, engaged on repair and maintenance works, are in receipt of wages totalling less than 45/- a week; and whether, having regard to present cost of living, he will take steps to have the wages of these men increased to the local rate obtaining for builders' labourers in Limerick.

Four employees of the Shannon Navigation at Limerick are in receipt of wages of 45/- a week, less appropriate insurance deductions. These wages are at present, under review, but I cannot at this stage indicate whether they will be adjusted on the lines suggested by the Deputy.
