Vol. 104 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Travel to Britain.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state whether there have been any recent discussions with the British Government with a view to securing the removal of the restrictions on travel to Great Britain; and if there is any prospect of the removal of these restrictions in the near future.

There have been no recent discussions with the British Government on this subject for the reasons which I explained in my replies to similar questions by Deputies Fogarty and O'Sullivan on the 14th February and 7th November, 1946. The situation has not fundamentally changed and I have no information which would justify my forecasting an early removal of the restrictions in question.
