Vol. 104 No. 6

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper, Nos. 4, 5, 3 and 6, that is, Nos. 5 and 6 with the Money Resolutions in their appropriate places. Private Deputies' Business will be taken at 9 p.m., or earlier if Government business has finished earlier.

Regarding time for my question, am I to understand that time will be given at the Minister's convenience after Government time?

The Government have no objection to providing an hour for the discussion, if the Ceann Comhairle can devise a method by which it can be done.

It can be done by moving the adjournment after public business has concluded.

I thought you were going to allow me to move the adjournment for the purpose of raising the matter of the Board of Works employees— which I waived a fortnight ago.

That would be in Private Deputies' time—at 10 o'clock.

What is the Government business for to-morrow?

Assuming that the business ordered for to-day is concluded, the only Government business to-morrow will be item No. 1, so that the rest of the time will be available for Private Deputies' Business.

Could the matter referred to not be dealt with to-morrow?

The adjournment could be moved at 9 o'clock to-morrow night for that purpose.

If the Minister were available at the conclusion of Government business to-day, possibly a discussion could take place on the motion for the adjournment.

Is that practicable?

When will I be allowed to raise the matter of which I gave notice yesterday—the scarcity of milk and fuel which is very serious in Dublin at the moment?

I will consider that between now and 10 o'clock. I already have notice of three matters to be raised, but I will let the Deputy know. Possibly he might get in at 10 o'clock to-night.

What about question No. 6?

Though it does not give them a pre-emptive right, there are Deputies who gave me notice three days ago.

How did they know what the answers were going to be?

They are matters to which answers were given three days ago, and not to-day.
