Vol. 104 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is now in a position to state when the holdings on the Verschoyle Estate at Kilberry, Athy, will be vested in the tenants.

The former Verschoyle Estate at Kilberry now comprises holdings of tenanted land and also allotments provided by the Land Commission. The lands will be vested in the tenants and in allottees who prove satisfactory, when the cases are reached in the ordinary course. It is not possible to say when the cases are likely to be reached but the general work of vesting is being expedited and there will be no avoidable delay.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is his intention to allocate, for sub-division among local uneconomic holders, the holding of the Irish Land Commission, County Kilkenny (receivable order No. 153/128) on the lands of Inistiogue containing 76 acres, 1 rood, 3 perches, situate at Woodstock House, Inistiogue, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, formerly in the possession of Patrick Walsh.

The answer is in the negative.

Could the Minister say if these lands have been offered to demobilised Army officers?
