Vol. 105 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sunday Opening of Public Houses.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that, under the present licensing laws, public houses may open on Sundays in certain cities, but no such facilities are available in rural districts; and if, in view of the growing demand for similar opening facilities on Sundays, in small towns and villages, he will indicate if it is his intention to introduce proposals for legislation to amend the licensing laws to permit the provision of reasonable refreshment for rural workers on Sundays.

Mr. Boland

I do not intend to introduce legislation on the lines suggested by the Deputy.
