asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the rate of wages paid to road workers, employed by each county council, as at 31st March, 1945; 31st March, 1946; 30th September, 1946 and 31st March, 1947.

Following are the rates of wages of road workers employed by county councils:—

* The rate for road labourers employed by Galway County Council has been increased to 44/- a week as from 1st April, 1947.

* Limerick and Clare County Councils have been informed that approval would be given to payment of wages at the rates of 44/- and 47/6 per week to road labourers employed by them.
