Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Firewood.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the quantity, in tons, of timber, intended for firewood, removed during the present year from the Phoenix Park to the North Wall extension; the cost of the haulage; and the cost of loading, unloading and reloading of such timber.

The quantity of timber intended for firewood removed up to the 10th April, 1947, by Fuel Importers (Éire), Limited, from the Phoenix Park to the North Wall extension was 1,354 tons. The cost of haulage was 6/10 per ton. Loading cost 2/5 per ton and unloading 1/2 per ton. The cost of reloading will be borne by the merchants drawing supplies.
