Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finances of Hydro-Electric Schemes.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what is the present total estimated cost of the hydro-electric development scheme (a) on the lower river Liffey at Leixlip, and (b) on the lower river Erne; and what moneys have already been advanced in each case.

The present total estimated cost of the hydro-electric development on the lower river Liffey at Leixlip is £315,000, and on the lower river Erne £3,155,500.

No cash advances have as yet been specifically required by the Electricity Supply Board for these works. The approximate value of the work carried out on these schemes to date is (a) Leixlip £69,000 and (b) Erne £548,000.
