Vol. 106 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Curragh Fitters and Blacksmiths.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has received representations for an increase in wages on behalf of fitters and blacksmiths employed at the Curragh Camp; and if he will state when the increased rates of wages will be authorised.

I have received representations for an increase in wages on behalf of fitters and blacksmiths employed at the Curragh Camp. A favourable decision has been arrived at in the case of the fitters and the increased rate of wages will be paid during the week ended 14th instant, with effect from the 30th December, 1946. Enquiries have not yet been completed in the case of blacksmiths, but every effort is being made to bring the matter to a conclusion as soon as possible.
