A final figure for the total output of the 1946 wheat crop is not yet available but it is estimated at 330,000 tons of green wheat. To get at the figure for total production, which the Deputy may have in mind, the estimated seed usage and quantities lost in the course of collection and distribution must be added to the total output. This gives a figure of 460,000 tons as the estimated production. The quantity supplied to flour mills was 316,000 tons (green) and the amount used for seed is estimated at 75,000 tons.
