Vol. 108 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rent-Fixing Machinery.

asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to bring into operation Part III of the Rent Restrictions Act, 1946, and to set up the special machinery for fixing the lawful rents of tenement lettings and other small premises in the four country boroughs and the borough of Dun Laoghaire.

Mr. Boland

An Order has been made appointing the 1st November, 1947, to be the day on which Part III of the Rent Restrictions Act, 1946, will come into operation. The special provisions of Part III for the relief of tenants of "small premises" will, therefore, operate as from the date mentioned in the four county boroughs of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford and in the borough of Dun Laoghaire.
