Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deaths from Drowning.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state the number of deaths from drowning which occurred within the State, in the three months ended 31st August, 1947:

I regret I am not at present in a position to give the Deputy the information asked for.

Its preparation would involve a detailed examination of the returns of 646 local registrars of deaths for each of the quarters ended 30th June and 30th September. The returns for the September quarter will not be available until November at the earliest and the analysis of their contents will not be completed until about January next.
