Vol. 108 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Education (Amendment) Act.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state whether he has specified, under Section 6 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944, any retiring age in respect of any class of offices to which the section applies; and if so, whether he will state the offices to which his declaration applies and the retiring age specified in each case.

An Order entitled the Vocational Education Committees (Age Limit for Officers) Order, 1947, was made on 20th February last under the statutory authority mentioned in the question. The Order declares 65 years to be the age limit for every office under a Vocational Education Committee the holder of which is entitled by law to a superannuation allowance on his resigning or otherwise ceasing to hold office.
