Vol. 108 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade Loans.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the names and addresses of the persons or firms to whom advances were made under the Trade Loans (Guarantee) Acts in respect of whom it was necessary to write off the whole or portion of the amount advanced, and the amount so written off in each case.

No persons or firms received advances under the Trade Loans (Guarantee) Acts. I presume, however, that the Deputy seeks information as to the sums issued out of the Central Fund in respect of guaranteed loans and the total sums which have been paid into the Exchequer in repayment of sums so issued. This information is furnished to the House during the month of April in each year in accordance with Section 6 of the Trade Loans (Guarantee) Act, 1924, and Section 11 (2) of the Act of 1939. The latest account which is up to the 31st March, 1947, was laid on the Table of the Dáil on the 23rd April, 1947, and is available in the Official Library.
