Vol. 108 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Profits of Merchants and Bellmen.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state, in respect of the sale of (i) turf, and (ii) coal, the profit allowable, on each ton, to (a) coal merchants, and (b) bellmen.

The margins allowed to fuel merchants and bellmen to cover the costs of handling and distribution, overhead expenses and profit in respect of sales of turf and coal are set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report. It is assumed that the Deputy's question relates to domestic fuel. The price of fuel in the turf area is not officially controlled.
