Vol. 108 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Claremorris Post Office Extension.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state what progress, if any, has been made since 24th June, 1947, in providing a temporary extension to the present post office at Claremorris.

Final sketch plans of the proposed extension have been approved and the necessary authority from the Minister for Finance procured. I am endeavouring to expedite the work as much as possible.

Could the Minister make a guess as to when building will start?

The Commissioners of Public Works have now the matter in hands for urgent attention, but the specifications, working drawings, etc., have first to be completed and it will be some months yet before actual building commences.

The same old story; bad as ever.
