Vol. 108 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Employees' Conditions.

asked the Minister for Health if there has been any alteration in the terms or conditions of service of servants employed in Cork Street Fever Hospital; and if so, the nature of these alterations.

Apart from increases in remuneration and the introduction of regulations governing the grant of sick leave and payment of staff during illness or incapacity, there has been no alteration in the terms or conditions of service of servants employed in Cork Street Fever Hospital in recent years. The increases in remuneration were on the lines of similar increases granted to servants of local authorities. The regulations regarding sick leave are based on similar regulations as set out in the Local Government (Officers) Regulations, 1943, and those applicable to certain employees in the Civil Service and in several respects represent an improvement on the arrangement previously in force.
