Vol. 108 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 8, 10 and 11, with No. 2 in its appropriate place.

I understood that the Taoiseach was to make a statement on the Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement immediately after Questions.

After Item No. 1 which is the introduction of a Bill.

Can we be told whether the House will sit to-morrow?

And what business we will have.

That will turn very largely on whether Deputies wish to have a discussion to-day on the statement which the Taoiseach is now going to make. Deputies may prefer to postpone the discussion until next week, but if a discussion is desired to-day, and a considerable amount of time is occupied in that discussion, then the House will sit to-morrow to endeavour to dispose of the business ordered.

So that if the House should prefer to have the discussion next week on the Taoiseach's statement, the House will not sit to-morrow?

If the desire is to have the discussion next week, time will be provided next week for it, and the House will not sit to-morrow if the business ordered for to-day is completed.

On the question as to whether there is business to be done or not, I think it might be more satisfactory that any discussion that may be required on the Taoiseach's statement should take place next week rather than to-morrow.

I think we had better hear the statement first.

I wish to bring to the notice of the Chair that with regard to the amendments which were taken yesterday to the Electoral Bill I had absolutely no notification of them, nor have I yet received any notification of those amendments. I understand that the same applies to other Deputies. I have not yet received, addressed to myself, a copy of the amendments which were so tabled.

That matter will be inquired into.

Thank you.

I am sure that they were sent out with all the others.

I understand that the same applies to other Deputies as well as to myself.
