Vol. 108 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fuel Supplies in County Monaghan.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what provision has been made to ensure that supplies of fuel, in small lots, will be available to poor people in Ballybay, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross, who are unable to buy in bulk.

As stated in my reply to a previous question by Deputy Mrs. Rice on this subject on 30th October, 1947, arrangements have been made whereby adequate supplies of county council turf will be available to fuel merchants in Monaghan towns. The necessary steps have been taken to ensure that supplies will be readily available to domestic consumers who purchase their turf in small lots.

The Minister has taken a long time to get round to it.
