Vol. 109 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Flooding.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that, owing to the obstruction of Hawe's Bridge on the main Waterford Road and the formation of a large sand bank at the junction of the Rivers Araglen and Blackwater, the lands of Mrs. Helena Tobin, Ballyderown, Kilworth, Fermoy, have been subjected to very severe flooding, and the water supply to her house has been very much interfered with; if he will state who is responsible for taking steps to remove these obstructions in the river and to prevent this damage; and whether, if the responsibility rests on him, he will see that the necessary steps are taken in the matter.

Representations have been received by the Land Commission regarding the flooding of lands, including the holding of Mrs. Helena Tobin, by the Araglen river. The matter is under investigation and the Land Commission are not, at present, in a position to supply further information.
