Vol. 109 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Pensions Scheme.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider amending the Army Pensions Scheme, 1947, so as to permit increased pensions to be paid to former non-commissioned officers and men who would have completed 21 to 23 years' pensionable service on 2nd September, 1946, but who were discharged before that date, and to all married former non-commissioned officers and men whose wives are still living, similar to that granted to those discharged on or after 2nd September, 1946.

It is not proposed to introduce amending legislation on the lines suggested by the Deputy.
