Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 3 Dec 1947

Vol. 109 No. 3

Statement by Ceann Comhairle.

My attention has been called to certain answers made by Deputy O'Higgins, in the course of his examination on Thursday last before the tribunal of inquiry on matters relating to the proposed disposal of Locke's Distillery, in which he animadverted on the conduct of the Chair in the control of debate in the Dáil.

I am of opinion that it would be an interference with the deliberations of the tribunal for the Dáil to take the matter into consideration at this stage. It seems to me that there is a case to be considered by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges when the tribunal has reported.
