Vol. 109 No. 3

Committee on Finance. - Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Bill, 1947—Final Stages.

With reference to the matter arising on the Report Stage of the Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Bill, the Minister states that he has no amendment to put on the Report Stage and asks the House to take the other stages of the Bill now.

Sir, I indicated on the Committee Stage of the Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Bill, 1947, that I might have to put down a minor amendment for the Report Stage. Accordingly, I asked the House to fix the Report Stage for to-morrow. On re-examination of the text of the Bill I find that such an amendment would not be necessary. Accordingly, I move:

That the Order for the taking of the Report Stage of the Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Bill, 1947, be discharged and that the remaining stages be taken now.

Agreed.

Question —"That the Bill, as amended, be received for final consideration"— put, and agreed to.
Question —"That the Bill do now pass"— put, and agreed to.
Ordered: That the Bill be sent to the Seanad.
