Vol. 109 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Footwear for Co-operative Society.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the boot factories of this country have refused to supply footwear to a proposed co-operative society in Dublin, formed by workers, in order to reduce the cost of such articles for themselves and their families; and if he will state whether he has any power to insist that an allocation of footwear will be given to this society.

It has been represented to me that some boot and shoe manufacturers have found themselves unable to fulfil orders of the kind referred to by the Deputy. I am having inquiries made into the matter.
