Vol. 109 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gorey Sewerage System.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what type of sewerage system there is in the Garden City, Gorey, County Wexford; and further, what steps are being taken to have this sewerage system improved.

The cottages at Gorey Garden City were provided by the former Wexford Board of Health under the Labourers Acts. There is a half-acre plot attached to each cottage. No provision was made in the scheme for piped water supply or sewerage services. I have received no proposals for the improvement of the existing facilities which are of the type common to rural cottage schemes. The matter is primarily one for the Sanitary Authority.
