Vol. 109 No. 5

Written Answers. - Lissarda (County Cork) School.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the necessity for the erection of a new school at Lissarda, County Cork, is very urgent; and if, as it is understood that very substantial funds have been accumulated for this purpose, he will take all necessary steps to have this urgently required school accommodation provided.

As I intimated in my reply to a previous question by the Deputy in this case on the 20th March, 1947, I am aware of the urgent need for the erection of a new school to replace the present Kilmurry Boys' and Girls' National Schools, Lissarda, County Cork. My Department has since been in communication with the manager, but I am informed that fresh difficulties in regard to the acquisition of the proposed site have arisen.

My Department will continue to take all practicable steps to have the case brought to issue as soon as possible.
