Vol. 110 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disposal of Wood Fuel.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that there is a large dump of wood fuel in the Muckross estate, Killarney, and if, in view of the recent statement made by the Minister for Finance regarding the fuel situation, he will arrange to have this timber made available for purchase at a reasonable rate by the poorer inhabitants of the district.

There is a considerable quantity of firewood stacked on the State forest lands at Killarney. In accordance with the practice that is being adopted generally by the forestry division of my Department firewood material on hands is being made available for local sale in such proportion as the local inhabitants are prepared to purchase within a reasonable period.
