Vol. 111 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Telephone Facilities.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will arrange to have public telephone kiosks erected at Swords, Rush, Lusk and other such populous districts within a short distance of Dublin City.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will take steps immediately to have public telephone kiosks erected at Tallaght, Rathcoole and Blanchardstown.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to reply to Questions Nos. 12 and 13 together.

Kiosks are required at numerous centres throughout the country, and the Department is endeavouring to provide them in the order of greatest need. Kiosks have been erected at many centres in County Dublin, and it is intended to provide at least three during the current financial year at Dalkey, Templeogue and Dún Laoghaire respectively.

A kiosk will be provided at Rush next year, but owing to the greater need of other centres, it will be some considerable time before the other places named by the Deputy can be provided with this facility.
