Vol. 111 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tullow Branch Railway Line.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is yet in a position to state when the Tullow branch railway line will be reopened by Córas Iompair Éireann.

I would refer the Deputy to replies which I gave on 1st June and on various preceding dates regarding the reopening of branch railway lines which were closed early in 1947 on account of the shortage of fuel. I indicated that the proposals which I have received from Córas Iompair Éireann concerning the transport services which they provide are being examined. This examination will be expedited as much as possible but it will take some time to complete in view of the magnitude of the problems involved.
