Vol. 112 No. 5

Written Answers to Questions. - Imports of Winter and Spring Wheat.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether seed wheat of winter and spring varieties will be imported from Great Britain for the 1948-49 sowing.

It is hoped to import a reasonable quantity of winter seed wheat of commercial varieties from Great Britain this year. While it is unlikely that any considerable surplus of seed wheat of spring varieties will be available for importation, arrangements will be made to import whatever quantity can be procured, both from Great Britain and Scandinavia.
