Vol. 112 No. 5

Written Answers to Questions. - Portlaoighise Road Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the worsening of that part of bog road between Portlaoighise and Mount-mellick which it is proposed to concrete; and, if so, whether he will have this scheme expedited as soon as possible; further, if he will state the total grant being made available by his Department for this work.

Mr. Murphy

Discussions regarding the road referred to have taken place between the Department's engineering inspectors and the acting county engineer, who is to furnish revised plans and other documents. When plans are received their examination will be expedited.

A grant of 75 per cent. of the cost subject to a maximum grant of £10,500, has been sanctioned for the work.
