Vol. 113 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Citizenship of County Dublin Resident.

asked the Minister for Justice whether Mrs. V. Van der Elst, of Sutton House, Sutton, County Dublin, is a citizen of this State or of Great Britain, and if not, to state her nationality, and to say whether she has been convicted in Great Britain of offences against the law of that country, and if so, to state the number and nature of such offences; to state further her country of origin, her maiden name and subsequent married name.

I understand that the lady referred to is a British subject. I have no official information in regard to the other matters raised in the question.

Has the Minister any official information that this lady was a very heavy contributor to the funds of Clann na Poblachta?

A Deputy

You brought her in.

Might I ask the Minister if he considers that it adds dignity to this Assembly that a question of this kind should be put down for public answer?

Is the Minister aware that this lady claimed that she influenced the policy of the Government in relation to very serious matters very recently?

A Deputy

Did you not let her in and keep her here?

There will be a a question in relation to that matter to-morrow.
