Vol. 113 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of River Embankments.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the sluice gates and the river embankments on the Godfrey estate, Milltown, County Kerry, are in a serious state of disrepair, and if he will take steps to arrange for their repair at the earliest possible date.

The Land Commission have no liability for the repair or maintenance of the drainage and protective works at Milltown, County Kerry, on the estates of Sir William Godfrey, Record Nos. E.C.3363 and E.C.3267, but the question of what assistance, if any, can be given by them towards the cost of repairing these and other works on the River Maine is at present under consideration.

Arising out of the Minister's reply, is the Minister aware that the work in question is of a minor type, such as the erection of a pier and sluice gates?

I did not hear the Deputy.
