Vol. 113 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electrification for Connemara.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is intended to include the Connemara Gaeltacht in the plans for rural electrification; and, if so, when an extension from Galway to Spiddal and Moycullen may be expected.

An investigation is at present being made in the Spiddal and Moycullen areas to determine if the estimated financial returns from these areas would be sufficiently good in comparison with other areas to enable them to be selected for development under the rural electrification scheme. It is expected that the next group of areas for development will be selected by the Electricity Supply Board during this month.
