Vol. 113 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bacon Quotas.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, having regard to the substantial improvement in the bacon supply position, he will now consider granting bacon quotas to shopkeepers who have started business since 1941.

Bacon quotas are not granted by me, but by the Pigs and Bacon Commission. If the recent improvement in bacon production is maintained it may soon be possible for the commission to consider favourably applications for bacon quotas from persons who have gone into the provision business since 1941.
