Vol. 114 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turbary for Mayo Farmers.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that a large number of small farmers in the townlands of Greenwood, Reisk, Erriff (Dillon estate), have been without turbary plots for a considerable time; and, if so, whether he will take steps to have turbary provided for these people.

Tenants in these town-lands were provided with turbary by the late Congested Districts Board, but this turbary may by now be cut out. I propose to have the position examined by the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that approximately 20 small farmers in townlands of Doogary, Bruff, Lismegan, etc., are without turbary plots; and, if so, whether he will have the locality inspected with a view to providing plots for these people.

Tenants in the town-lands referred to received turbary from the late Congested Districts Board. As this turbary may have since been cut away, I have arranged with the Land Commission to have the position examined without delay.
