Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 23 Feb 1949

Vol. 114 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Six-County Representation in Dáil.

asked the Taoiseach if the Government have considered the request of Mr. E. McAteer, M. P., for permission to take his seat in Dáil Éireann; and, if so, what decision has been arrived at; and if he will state if the Government have considered proposing or recommending to the Oireachtas and the people the necessary constitutional and legal changes that may be necessary to enable the elected representatives of Irish people now residing in the six partitioned counties to take their seats in Dáil Éireann.

The matter referred to in the Deputy's question is at present under examination by the Government.

Can the Taoiseach say when he will be able to make a statement on the matter?

Will the Deputy put down the question again in the course of a few weeks?
