Written Answers. - Employment on Road Work and Turf Cutting.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (i) the number of men employed during the period April to October in the years 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947 and 1948 on road works in each of the counties of Leinster; and (ii) the number employed during the same period on turf-cutting and saving operations in the counties producing national fuel during emergency and post-emergency years up to the 1947 season.

(i) The average number of men employed by direct labour on road works by each of the Leinster county councils for each of the periods in question is as follows:—
