Vol. 114 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Harbour.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the necessity for increased employment and better trade in Sligo, he will ask Irish Shipping, Limited, to send boats to Sligo Harbour for the purpose of conveying cattle from the western counties to Great Britain.

I understand that Irish Shipping Limited have no vessels which would be suitable for the shipment of cattle and that they are not proposing to engage in this business at present.

Therefore, all the promises made about Sligo Harbour during the election were a cod?

There were a lot of statements made about Sligo Harbour at various elections by Deputies on the opposite benches which were very much a cod.

Much the Deputy did to help Sligo.
