Vol. 114 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - “Redmonds Fields,” Donnybrook.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the Corporation of Dublin have made any proposals for the compulsory acquisition of the land known as "Redmonds Fields" in Donnybrook, whether it has been intimated formally or informally to the corporation that this proposal will be favourably considered by him and whether in consequence some persons have been informed that certain of the new houses have been earmarked for their occupation.

Mr. Murphy

Public notice has been given of the making by the Dublin Corporation of a compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of this property and the order will shortly be submitted to the Department. The order, when received, will be considered on its merits in the normal way, and no intimation of any kind has been given to the corporation as to whether the order will be confirmed or not. So far as I am concerned, there could, therefore, be no earmarking, for the occupation of particular tenants, of houses which may be erected on this site if and when it is duly acquired.
