Vol. 114 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the amounts of Road Fund grants sanctioned for the current financial year for restoration, maintenance and improvement, distinguishing between main and county roads; (b) the estimated income of the Road Fund for the current financial year; (c) the estimated expenditure under (a) above; (d) the estimated deficit accruing, and (e) the estimated income (approximately) from the Road Fund in the coming financial year.

(a) The Road Fund grants allocated to county councils in the current financial year are as follows: (i) Maintenance—Main roads £2,950,483, county roads £1,312,183; (ii) Improvement—Main roads £440,000. (b) The estimated income from motor taxation is £2,400,000. (c) Approximately £2,410,000. (d) and (e) I would refer the Deputy to the reply to a similar question given to him on the 17th instant.

Has the Parliamentary Secretary yet made any calculation as to what it is going to cost him to buy out Deputy Dunne with additional grants to the County Dublin?

You are well bought out, anyway.
