asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of males, 18 years and over, engaged in agriculture on the 1st June, 1947 and 1948, distinguishing between members of family, permanent employees and casual employees.

The numbers of males, 18 years and over, engaged in agriculture, distinguishing between members of family, permanent employees and casual employees were on the 1st June, 1947, members of family 346,945, permanent employees 83,284, casual employees 47,292 and on the 1st June, 1948 members of family 339,082, permanent employees 81,319, casual employees 48,288.
