Vol. 114 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Volume of Imports and Exports.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the volume of imports and of domestic exports in each of the months of October, November and December, 1948, and for the whole of each of the years 1947 and 1948.

The volume of imports (quantities valued at 1930 prices) in October, 1948, was £4.87 million; in November, 1948, £4.78 million, and in the year 1947, £57.13 million. The volume of domestic exports (quantities valued at 1930 prices) in October, 1948, was £1.85 million; in November, 1948, £2.01 million, and in the year 1947, £19.22 million. Figures for December, 1948, and for the year 1948 are not yet available.

The oral questions that remain unanswered will be repeated in to-morrow's Order Paper.

At our last meeting I asked the permission of the Chair to raise the subjectmatter of Questions 15 and 16 on the Order Paper of March 3rd on the Adjournment.

There are three such requests. I shall inform the Deputy in regard to that matter later.
